World Book Day is a yearly celebration promoting the benefits and joys of literacy. The initiative comes from The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). It celebrates reading for enjoyment and encourages children to make literature a regular part of their lives.
If you’re looking for World Book Day 2023 activities, we’ve got you covered!
UNESCO proposes that kids do this by attending author book signings, school book fairs, festivals. Some of our favorite book festivals include Y’all Fest in Charleston, South Carolina, and Ya’ll West in California. Incorporate World Book Day activities year-round by participating in book swaps and book clubs with friends.
The bookish holiday is celebrated in the UK and Ireland in early March and in other countries, on April 23rd, here in the U.S., World Book Day isn’t very well-known, but we definitely need to remedy that, don’t you agree?
